about

Plaincat Entertainment Pictures is a British film company founded and operated by mx reigner, based in London.

The name of the studio came from a mystery painting Reigner once hoped to buy in a Brighton art gallery, depicting a cat walking through the English plains.

The painting was sold to an unknown buyer, but Reigner based the Plaincat ident off of a photograph taken of the painting at the time. The ident can be seen before every feature film produced by Plaincat.

Plaincat’s first theatrical feature film release is called The Cabyn (dir. mx reigner, Plaincat Entertainment Pictures) and will grace theatres in 2027. It will be the first ever feature simultaniously shot and composed for vertical media formats alongside the traditional cinematic widescreen format.

Look out for the first of 100 vertical short form teasers on all platforms @plaincatpictures.
